Graphic work and Illustration are already seen as popular 'day jobs' for artists owing to the skill parallels and, more importantly, flexible hours; and tattooing seems to be just as promising.
I've been working an apprenticeship at a Glaswegian Tattoo shop for a week now and I’m coming along in time. I’ve learnt some things ("what do you mean they bleed?!") and I’m working to discard habits that aren't all that useful. For example; don’t draw an epic biblical back-piece in a manga style.
For now, I’ll work on inking, and hope to show you the results soon. However, juggling three days a week with studio time and lectures is tricky so I can’t give any certain views on the outcome, but with any luck I'll be working on skin in no time!
